"Just as it is difficult not to succumb to the perturbing charm of Gianluca Monnier & Andrée Julikà Tavares' room: from a bare, peeling room emerges a small, low corridor covered in red velvet, like a hidden appendage of the main room. At the end is a simple lamp, as if on a revisited altar, modern and almost sceptical about its own sacredness. The velvet is amniotic, uterine but also extremely stinging: one is torn between the desire to linger in the room for hours and the desire to escape as quickly as possible."
